10th August 2008 Windsurfing: Blithfield Wind Direction: WSW Wind Stength: F3-5 Surf / Sea State: Choppy Air Temperature: OK Sea Temperature: OK Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: Looked windy so took out Max 2 Air with 5.8m. Too many lulls - should have come in for a bigger board, but it looked like it would pick up. It did and then I was overpowered. Maximum downhaul and outhaul improved things a bit, but I think 4.7m would have been enough. Nice footsteering around on the chop, but gybes were a bit overpowered and there were a few crashes. Alpha is very stable even overpowered - the limiting factor was the board speed through the chop, others were on 5.0 and 5.3, but the 5.8 Alpha was solid. |
